What is PRP?
Platelet Rich Plasma also known as PRP is a concentration of platelets from your own blood that aids in tissue regeneration. Platelets are a type of cell in your blood that releases growth factors. These growth factors can stimulate collagen production and tissue generation. This safe and simple procedure is the golden fluid that naturally restores the skin! PRP treatments is a natural option to help improve skin texture, smooth fine lines, simulates collagen and tissue regeneration, under-eye dark circles, under-eye puffiness, scars, wrinkles and can be a natural alternative to facial filler.
How does it work?
While you are numbing Dr.Bhogal will draw a small amount of blood into a sterile tube which is then placed in a centrifuge to begin the PRP process. The centrifuge spins the fluid incredibly fast where it then separates your blood into plasma that is rich in platelets. After this, PRP is prepared for treatment and Master Injector Dr.Bhogal will inject it into the desired area. This treatment takes upwards of an hour with numbing being the longest part of the treatment. After treatment a 2 week post injection appointment is made. This appointment is very important because Master Injector Dr.Bhogal can make sure the treatment area has healed properly. Dr.Bhogal and her team will be with you the whole recovery time!
What do I expect right after the treatment?
Immediately following the procedure, the most commonly reported temporary side effects are redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, tingling, numbness, lumpiness, and/or a feeling of pressure or fullness at the injection sites and/or in the treated area(s). These usually resolve in 3 days but may take up to one week.
When do I see the results?
Most clients need a minimum of 3-4 treatments 4-6 weeks apart. It is important to know that this type of treatment takes time for the results to start to show. PRP is creating a stock pile of nutrients needed to enhance and give the body supplies to start building/healing the skin. This type of process can take 3-6 months after your first treatment to really start seeing the beginning process. Beauty takes time but its worth the wait when your skin becomes refreshed, youthful and lively!
